Troubleshooting
Let us help you with some common issues.
- Delete the downloaded file
- Make sure that no other software, such as firewall or virus software is interfering with the download. You may need to temporarily disable these programs as well as any download managers.
- Download the software again, making sure that the software is completely downloaded before installing.
Where did my download go?
Firefox:
You can access downloads from your current browsing session by clicking on the Downloads button in the toolbar.
- The arrow will appear blue
to let you know there are unviewed downloaded files.
- During a download, the Downloads button becomes an icon
that gradually fills with color to show your download’s progress. You can click the download item, even before it’s finished downloading; Firefox will open the file immediately once it is available.
Click on the Downloads button to open the Downloads panel. The Downloads panel displays your five most recently downloaded files, along with their size and download status. To see all of your downloads at any time, go to the Library by clicking Show all downloads at the bottom of the Downloads panel. Right-click the Downloads button for options, such as to hide the Downloads button when there are no downloads in the current session or to show the Downloads panel when a download begins.
Chrome:
Chrome typically displays a downloads bar/tray at the bottom of the browser window while a file is being downloaded and for a short time afterwards.
Click the three dots (More) icon in the top right corner of Chrome. Select “Downloads” from the dropdown menu.
Press Ctrl+J to open the download history tab directly.
- Access downloads in Safari:Open Safari, click the “Page Settings” button (circle with an arrow) near the search bar, and select “Downloads”.
- Find downloads in Files app:Open the “Files” app on your device and navigate to the “Downloads” folder to see your downloaded files.
Edge:
To find downloads in Microsoft Edge, click the three-dot menu (Settings and more) in the top-right corner, select “Downloads,” or use the shortcut Ctrl + J.
Locate the Downloads Menu:
Open Microsoft Edge.
Click the three-dot menu (Settings and more) in the top-right corner.
Select “Downloads” from the menu.
Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + J.
The Downloads menu will display a list of your recently downloaded files.
You can then click on the folder icon next to a file to open its saved location.
By default, Microsoft Edge saves downloads to your computer’s Downloads folder.
To check or change the download location, go to Settings and more > Settings > Downloads.
The file path for your downloaded files (e.g., C:\\Users\\\[your name]\\Downloads) is listed under Location.
You can also click the “Change” button to select a different location.
